Why Choose Vlieseline Interfacing?
Previously known as Vilene, Vlieseline is recognised as the professional's choice for interfacing and wadding product.
During the past 60 years, Vlieseline has become the number one brand for high standard interlining products. Whatever your task or sewing experience, Vlieseline interfacing will suit all abilities and all manner of projects - from small scale craft-making to professional tailoring and dressmaking.
Our Vlieseline re-cycled light-weight fusible interfacing is a high quality, easy to use iron-on interfacing, available in F220/304 White and F220/326 Grey colour ways. As a versatile, light-weight interfacing, this is a very suitable backing for many of our light-weight cottons and polycottons. Being comfortable and pliable, Vlieseline light-weight fusible interfacing can be used on a whole host of sewing and craft projects, from small garment areas, dressmaking to textile craftwork.
Why Choose Fusible Interfacing?
With an easy, iron-on application, Vlieseline fusible iron-on interfacing is very straight-forward to use, compared to sew-in interfacing and ideal for both beginner and professional makers. Fusible interfacing works with most fabrics and will ensure success for your project. However, ensure to check the recommended interfacing for your project on the pattern as some material does not respond well to heat or has a loose weave where glue can seep through. Vlieseline fusible interfacing is incredibly easy and quick to apply. Simply use an iron on low heat to permanently bond the adhesive side of the interfacing to the back of your chosen fabric. Always allow the fabrics to cool before continuing with your project.
What Weight Interfacing Should Be Used?
As a guide, you should choose an interfacing weight that is the same weight as the fabric you will be using, or slightly lighter. The manufacturer suggests to test a small piece of interfacing on your fabric, before applying to the rest of your project.
