Why Choose Vlieseline Interfacing?
Previously known as Vilene, Vlieseline has become the globally renown choice for interfacing and wadding products.
Over the past 60 years, Vlieseline has built its excellent reputation on providing high quality interfacing products to professional studios, tailors and dressmakers, to become the number one choice for interfacing today. Vlieseline interfacing is used by everyone from sewing enthusiasts to professional tailor and garment studios. With a great selection of interfacing products, our Vlieseline collection ensures that there is an interfacing solution for all projects.
Our Vlieseline Decovil interfacing fabric is a great, high quality iron-on interfacing, available in white. As a heavy-weight fusible interfacing, this is a versatile, easy to apply iron-on backing for many of our fabrics and will work well for a whole host of items that require additional support.
Decovil is tear-resistant, but also dimensionally stable and easy to shape. Furthermore it is resilient, resistant to bending, punchable and the cutting edges stay tight. As a result, the fixed fabrics are good to handle, very stable and durable. Ideally suited for the creation of hats, belts, bags and small fabric bowls, along with for interior decoration.
Why Choose Fusible Interfacing?
Vlieseline fusible interfacing is easy to use, making it appealing to all makers. Simply use an iron on low to warm heat to help the adhesive side of the interfacing permanently bond to your fabric. This quick and simple application makes Vlieseline fusible iron-on interfacing very straight-forward to use, compared to sew-in interfacing. Fusible interfacing is suitable for most uses and most fabrics, aside from those that do not respond well to heat or are loosely woven so that the glue can seep through. Always check the pattern instructions for your project to see which interfacing is recommended.
What Weight Interfacing Should Be Used?
It is recommended that you use an interfacing weight that is the same weight as the fabric you will be using, or ideally slightly lighter. The manufacturer suggests testing a small piece of interfacing on your fabric, before continuing with the rest of your project.
